Maarten Arts has a career of more than 25 years in professional football. Before that, he spent 10 years as head coach at various clubs up to the third tier in the Netherlands.

Netherlands

In the Netherlands, he worked at clubs such as NEC, Fortuna Sittard, and for 11 years at FC Utrecht. During that period, the Dutch Cup was won twice and the Super Cup once. Almost every year the club played European football. His pupil Michel Vorm made it into the Dutch national team during that time. In addition to Michel Vorm, Arts trained three more goalkeepers who would later play in the Premier League.

The arab world

After his time at FC Utrecht, Arts worked as a goalkeeper coach at Umm Salal Qatar (with Henk ten Cate) and later with the Saudi Arabia National Team (with Frank Rijkaard).

In addition to being a goalkeeper coach, Arts also served as Head of Goalkeeping at Wadi Degla (Egypt) and Al Wahda (Abu Dhabi). At most clubs where he worked, he was also responsible for set pieces.

Belgium

In Belgium, Arts worked for Lierse SK and Royal Union. For the past 5 years, he has been the High Performance Coordinator for all goalkeeping matters within the Belgian Topsportschools.

In the Pro Goal Elite Academy, Maarten Arts uses his many years of experience as a coach to help, train, and guide other coaches and goalkeepers.

training camps

Arts has organized several hundred Camps during his time working for REUSCH and UHLSPORT. The first Camp was held in the Netherlands in 1988, followed by the first goalkeeper camp in Germany in 1989.

International conferences

Through his 4 books and 3 DVDs, and his unique Pro Goal philosophy, Arts is frequently invited as a speaker at various international conferences, such as Apport Garda (Italy), BDFL (Germany), United Coaches Convention (USA), and Guarda Redes (Portugal).

In addition, he has delivered courses for federations around the world, including in Russia, South Africa, Mexico, Norway, Germany, Austria, the Faroe Islands, El Salvador, and many more.
